About
Approach
I use a facilitative, interest-based approach to mediation. This means helping participants understand the concerns, needs and priorities behind their disagreements, rather than focusing only on competing demands. I provide structure, support respectful communication and help participants explore realistic options without taking sides or deciding the outcome. My psychology background informs how I approach emotion, communication difficulties and relationship dynamics. My approach is psychologically informed, but it is not psychotherapy or counselling. I aim to give each person a meaningful opportunity to be heard and make informed decisions, without pressure to settle. I remain attentive to safety and power imbalances, keeping children’s needs and best interests central where relevant. I explain confidentiality and its limits and encourage independent legal or other professional advice when needed.
