Hendrik Engelbrecht

I am an experienced advocate and accredited mediator with a professional background spanning labour, family, commercial and contract law. Since 2011, I have practised as an advocate, specialising in dispute resolution across diverse legal sectors, including labour, family, commercial and contractual matters. In 2019, I founded Mediation Mindset, where I focus on alternative dispute resolution with a particular emphasis on workplace, family and commercial mediation. My mediation practice is supported by extensive formal accreditation across all major fields of mediation in South Africa. I am accredited as a Civil/Commercial Mediator and Labour/Workplace Mediator, having met DiSAC and ADRP‑SA standards, with accreditation valid through June 2026. I am also accredited as a Divorce and Family Mediator under NABFAM and ADRP‑SA standards. Additionally, I am a member in good standing of the Social Justice Association (SJA), a Recognised Mediation Organisation (RMO) under the Gauteng High Court Mediation Protocol. My training includes workplace mediation, commercial mediation, civil mediation, and advanced labour‑law programmes, equipping me with broad, multidisciplinary capability in conflict management and resolution. This combination of legal experience, multi‑field accreditation, and specialised training enables me to facilitate structured, effective and principled mediation processes across a wide range of disputes.
