Approach
My mediation methodology is facilitative, impartial, client-centred and solution-focused. I create a safe, respectful and confidential environment in which all parties have an equal opportunity to be heard and to express their concerns, interests and needs. I use active listening, effective communication, questioning, reality testing and structured negotiation to help parties identify the underlying issues and explore practical options for resolution. I remain strictly neutral and independent, without imposing decisions or taking sides. My role is to facilitate constructive dialogue, reduce conflict, identify areas of common ground and assist parties in developing their own informed and mutually acceptable solutions. Where appropriate, I use separate sessions (caucuses) to address sensitive issues and assist parties in overcoming impasses. My approach is particularly suited to family and divorce, civil and commercial, personal injury/RAF, medical negligence, community and other interpersonal disputes, with emphasis on dignity, confidentiality, informed decision-making and sustainable agreements.
