ABOUT ME I am an Industrial-Organisational Psychologist, Family Law, Medico-Legal, Road Accident Fund (RAF), and Commercial Mediator with more than 27 years of professional experience. I obtained my postgraduate psychology degree with distinction from the University of the Witwatersrand. I am a Rule 41A accredited mediator in association with Conflict Dynamics, Alternate Dispute Resolution Group, and Mediation Pan African. I am also a registered mediator with the South African Medico-Legal Association (SAMLA) and the Family Life Centre of South Africa (FAMSA). EXPERIENCE My mediation practice focuses on all Rule 41A matters, including Road Accident Fund (RAF) claims, divorce and family disputes, workplace conflicts, medical negligence matters, and commercial disputes. My facilitative approach draws on both my clinical and organisational psychology experience, enabling me to guide parties through complex emotional issues while remaining mindful of the relevant legal considerations. Throughout my career, I have worked extensively in organisational development, employee assessment, leadership development, and workplace conflict across a wide range of industries. I have served in both consultancy and practitioner roles, applying my understanding of human behaviour, organisational systems, and group dynamics in corporate and clinical environments. For more than 25 years, I have worked as a Vocational Expert and have provided expert testimony in the High Court. In 2016, I expanded my professional practice to include mediation, focusing on Road Accident Fund matters, workplace disputes, divorce and family conflicts, commercial disagreements, and matters involving police conduct. My involvement in the South African Medico-Legal Association (SAMLA) Road Accident Fund (RAF) Mediation Pilot Project provided valuable experience in resolving complex disputes involving injured claimants, legal representatives, and Road Accident Fund officials.

JP (Jesse Phoenix) Weitz is a family law and labour mediator, and an admitted advocate of the High Court (non-practising), with 30+ years’ experience across military law, labour law, family law, healthcare, and early childhood development. He holds B.Juris and LLB degrees from North-West University and an Advanced Programme in Labour Law from the University of Pretoria. JP is certified as a Family and Divorce Mediator (Mediation Academy) and as a Civil, Commercial and Workplace Mediator (Conflict Dynamics). He serves as a full-time mediator and volunteers at Children’s Courts and Domestic Violence Courts in Gauteng, supporting access to professional mediation for families who may not otherwise afford it.

Xolani Koza is an emerging mediation practitioner with a growing focus on conflict resolution, collaborative problem‑solving, and ethical dispute management. Xolani approaches mediation with professionalism, impartiality, and respect for all parties, supporting dialogue‑driven solutions that foster understanding and long‑term resolution.

Debbie Chetty is an admitted attorney and accredited mediator specialising in family, civil, and commercial disputes. She has completed specialised training in RAF and medical negligence mediation through AFSA, equipping her to effectively manage complex, high-value claims. Debbie is committed to facilitating constructive dialogue and helping parties reach practical, cost-effective resolutions outside of the courtroom. With a strong legal background and a client-centered approach, she brings empathy, professionalism, and strategic insight to every mediation process. She is also a trained Voice of the Child Practitioner, ensuring that children’s perspectives are appropriately considered in family matters. Debbie has been a part of the Pro Bono project working at the Protea Magistrate Court and the Johannesburg Magistrate court.

Zaheera is an admitted Advocate of the High Court of South Africa and an accredited Mediator. She graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2007, where she obtained her LLB degree. Prior to joining the JSA for pupillage, she practiced as an attorney for 7 years in the fields of corporate and commercial law. During 2015, she completed her pupillage and then joined Group One Advocates. Her private law practice is in the following fields: commercial litigation and arbitrations, insolvency, business rescue, access to information, construction, environmental law, telecommunications, media and entertainment law (particularly defamation and privacy), sports law; trusts and international law. My public law practice is in the fields of administrative law and constitutional litigation. She has appeared in the Constitutional Court; various High Courts; Labour Court; and at arbitrations, tribunals, and mediations. She has acted for many large, national, and global corporations in significant disputes. In 2019, she became an accredited and certified Mediator with Arbitration Foundation of South Africa (“AFSA”). She has mediation experience in the following types of disputes: - Corporate and commercial; - Insolvency; - intellectual property; - Petroleum; - Sports; - Labour; - Medical negligence; and - RAF.

I am an Advocate of the High Court of South Africa with experience in dispute resolution, workplace and commercial conflict, law, forensic investigation and governance. I work as a mediator and conflict practitioner, with a particular interest in the relational dynamics that underpin conflict. My approach is psychoanalytically informed, helping parties explore not only the issues in dispute but also the patterns of interaction that can make conflict difficult to resolve. I have experience in workplace conduct matters, investigations, disciplinary processes, facilitation and conflict management across a range of sectors. I also provide mediation and conflict management training. I hold an MBA focused on negotiation, facilitation and social innovation and am a Chartered Governance Professional.

Dr Marli Jooste holds a PhD in Psychology and is an accredited Commercial and Workplace Mediator through Conflict Dynamics. With more than 15 years' experience in private practice and an extensive background in corporate human capital, leadership development, behavioural assessment, and organisational consulting, she brings a unique combination of psychological insight and commercial acumen to dispute resolution. Her mediation approach is informed by transformative mediation principles and behavioural science, enabling parties to move beyond positions and assumptions towards deeper understanding, sustainable solutions, and strengthened professional relationships. She is particularly passionate about facilitating complex workplace conversations, leadership disputes, team conflict, organisational change, and relationship breakdowns where trust, communication, and human behaviour play a central role. Dr Jooste regularly advises organisations on talent selection, leadership development, succession planning, restructuring, employee wellbeing, and behavioural risk. Through her work in psychometric assessment, coaching, and consulting, she has supported leaders and teams across a broad range of industries both nationally and internationally. As co-owner of PhysEQFiT Wellness and PhysEQFiT Guesthouse, she also understands first-hand the realities and pressures faced by business owners, professionals, and leaders. Her passion lies in helping individuals and organisations navigate difficult conversations with courage, clarity, and compassion while creating outcomes that are both practical and sustainable.

Wikus Steyl is a highly experienced South African attorney and director of Royce Steyl White Incorporated, with over two decades of litigation expertise spanning commercial, insolvency, business rescue, and criminal law. Admitted as an attorney of the High Court and recognised for his practical, results-driven approach, he combines deep technical legal knowledge with extensive courtroom experience to facilitate effective dispute resolution. As a trained mediator with specialist qualifications in business rescue and insolvency, he is particularly well positioned to mediate complex commercial and restructuring disputes, offering parties a pragmatic, informed, and solution-oriented pathway to settlement.
