I am an experienced advocate and accredited mediator with a professional background spanning labour, family, commercial and contract law. Since 2011, I have practised as an advocate, specialising in dispute resolution across diverse legal sectors, including labour, family, commercial and contractual matters. In 2019, I founded Mediation Mindset, where I focus on alternative dispute resolution with a particular emphasis on workplace, family and commercial mediation. My mediation practice is supported by extensive formal accreditation across all major fields of mediation in South Africa. I am accredited as a Civil/Commercial Mediator and Labour/Workplace Mediator, having met DiSAC and ADRP‑SA standards, with accreditation valid through June 2026. I am also accredited as a Divorce and Family Mediator under NABFAM and ADRP‑SA standards. Additionally, I am a member in good standing of the Social Justice Association (SJA), a Recognised Mediation Organisation (RMO) under the Gauteng High Court Mediation Protocol. My training includes workplace mediation, commercial mediation, civil mediation, and advanced labour‑law programmes, equipping me with broad, multidisciplinary capability in conflict management and resolution. This combination of legal experience, multi‑field accreditation, and specialised training enables me to facilitate structured, effective and principled mediation processes across a wide range of disputes.

I am also an accredited commercial mediator, accredited with Conflict Dynamics. In my free time I love painting, reading and traveling. I am a divorced mother of three beautiful children and am currently residing in Pretoria. Alternative Dispute Resolution is my passion.

I have been an attorney for more than 20 years and have specialised in family law since 2007. I trained as a family law mediator and 2009 and ran a dual practice, offering litigation and mediation services. I trained as a life coach through the Ford Institute and am able to bring the skills I learned in life coaching to my mediation practice, weaving together legal skills, mediation skills and coaching skills to provide a unique offering to clients.

Marius holds the degrees B.Proc. and LLB. He also obtained diplomas in Insolvency Law and Advanced Banking. He was admitted as an attorney in 1996 and practiced as an attorney (and director from 1998) at a medium firm of attorneys. He completed pupillage in 2010 and has practiced as a member of the Johannesburg Bar since December 2010. He has a general commercial litigation practice with an emphasis on banking, insolvency law and general litigation. Marius subsequently attended the mediation course presented by Fair Practice in December 2025 and successfully completed same. Subsequent thereto Marius registered as a mediator with International Mediation Institute (IMI), Social Justice and Mediation Society of South Africa (MSSA – an approved RMO in terms of the Mediation Protocol).

I practiced as an advocate for 25 years specialising in labour and employment law and have more recently joined Garlicke & Bousfield Inc as an attorney and Director. I am also currently ad hoc company secretary for a Norwegian shipping company, reports editor for the Industrial Law Journal and regular contributor to the Healthcare Business Review. I trained as an arbitrator through both AMSSA and AFSA and as a mediator through ADR group UK (international accreditation in civil and commercial mediation) and am passionate about dispute resolution and conflict management, holding panelist positions with Conflict Dynamics, Mediation in Motion, Mediation Pan African, and am a registered medical mediator with the SA Medico-Legal Association. I have extensive experience as a mediator, arbitrator and facilitator, in both the employment and civil & commercial sectors and have mediated commercial, school, corporate governance, medical negligence, personal injury, professional negligence, family & family business, grievance and workplace conflict disputes. Zaheera is an admitted Advocate of the High Court of South Africa and an accredited Mediator. She graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2007, where she obtained her LLB degree. Prior to joining the JSA for pupillage, she practiced as an attorney for 7 years in the fields of corporate and commercial law. During 2015, she completed her pupillage and then joined Group One Advocates. Theresa Luyt is a multi-disciplinary dispute resolution specialist, family mediator at MV ADR Attorneys (Malan Vermeulen Incorporated), with a practice focused on family and workplace mediation, restorative justice, and court-connected ADR. With a career spanning law, financial services, business ownership, and coaching, Theresa brings a uniquely integrated perspective to conflict resolution. Her work is grounded in the understanding that effective mediation sits at the intersection of legal, emotional, financial, and behavioural dynamics. Theresa holds a B.Proc degree from the University of the Free State and a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning (CFP). Her professional background includes experience as a pension fund administrator, consultant, and compliance officer, as well as managing and operating small to medium-sized businesses in the retail and service sectors. She has been practicing as a mediator since 2016 and is a SJA NABFAM-certified Family Mediator (2020) and a trained Restorative Justice Practitioner (2021). Youlander Jele Chaz is an attorney and Mediator with experience as a business and family law mediator.

I am a person that loves a world without conflict. Therefore, my passion is to help people to resolve conflict and live in a peaceful environment. Litigation is stressful, takes time and is costly. Mediation is the answer and although not all dynamics/conflicts between people can be resolved by way of mediation I believe that any attempt is better than none at all.
