I am seasoned legal professional, registered with the Legal Practice Council and admitted to practice as such in the High Court of South Africa and a mediator specialising in Legal Mediation. I have been practising as a legal practitioner for over 26 years, having been admitted as attorney in 1999. For 6 years as an attorney, I focused on commercial litigation, personal injury claims and medical negligence claims. I also served as an inhouse legal counsel for 9 years where I specialised mainly in Commercial Law, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) as well as Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC). In 2016, I was admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of South Africa. I served as the Chairperson of the Department of Health Nursing Tribunal and presided over various medical negligence claims against members of the health sector. I focus my mediation practice in commercial claims, medical negligence and personal injury claims. I am passionate about legal mediation and believes that mediation is an effective cost- effective dispute resolution process. I further believes that mediation creates lasting resolution while supporting mutual respect, confidentiality and gives parties’ the ability to make their own choices freely throughout the mediation process.

It is essential to have the opportunity to be heard, to tell your story. Mediation facilitates this process, and can therefore be effective in dispute resolution. Apart from private creative commissions, Louïne is currently part-time Practice Manager at EMLCT (Edeling Medico-Legal Consultancy Trust) where she works alongside mediation trailblazer, Dr. Herman Edeling. He is an experienced medico-legal mediator and responsible for the mediation protocol adopted by the Gauteng High Court.

Xolani Koza is an emerging mediation practitioner with a growing focus on conflict resolution, collaborative problem‑solving, and ethical dispute management. Xolani approaches mediation with professionalism, impartiality, and respect for all parties, supporting dialogue‑driven solutions that foster understanding and long‑term resolution.

I have been in practice for 36 years and the senior partner of this firm for the last 20 years. I specialize in defending insurance and municipal related medico-legal matters.

Zaheera is an admitted Advocate of the High Court of South Africa and an accredited Mediator. She graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2007, where she obtained her LLB degree. Prior to joining the JSA for pupillage, she practiced as an attorney for 7 years in the fields of corporate and commercial law. During 2015, she completed her pupillage and then joined Group One Advocates. Her private law practice is in the following fields: commercial litigation and arbitrations, insolvency, business rescue, access to information, construction, environmental law, telecommunications, media and entertainment law (particularly defamation and privacy), sports law; trusts and international law. My public law practice is in the fields of administrative law and constitutional litigation. She has appeared in the Constitutional Court; various High Courts; Labour Court; and at arbitrations, tribunals, and mediations. She has acted for many large, national, and global corporations in significant disputes. In 2019, she became an accredited and certified Mediator with Arbitration Foundation of South Africa (“AFSA”).
